America is at war. Our government says it is a war against drugs, but since it is primarily young people who use drugs, it is really a war against the young. Make no mistake, this war against the young has put more of its own people behind bars than any other country on the face of the Earth. Why has America gone to war against its young? Because the values of the young, especially after using visionary plants and potions are opposed to the ecocidal values of those in power.
What is needed is a new strategy to defend against those who, in the name of a "drug-free America," have made freedom itself an endangered species.
Tragically, most young people, because they have becn educated in schools run by the government, are often ignorant of the real power of our Constitution, the Bill of Rights, and the revolutionary history of our great country. America is at war against its young and young people everywhere are getting a bitter lesson in the kind of oppression that our Founding Fathers faced during the American Revolution. George Washington understood this all too well when he said:
Governrnent is not reason; it is not eloquence; it is force! Like fire, it is a dangerous servant and a fearful master.
Thomas Jefferson, who served as our third president, was so alarmed at the way government can quickly turn on its citizens, that he warned:
The new Constitution has secured these [individual rights] in the Executive and Legislative departments; but not in the Judiciary. It should have established trials by the people themselves, that is to say, by jury.
Jefferson saw that it is our right to a trial by jury that ultimately serves to protect our freedom and force our government to stay within the limitations of our Constitution. Jefferson knew the power of a jury to nullify bad laws was the enduring key to freedom. Listen carefully to what wise old Thomas Jefferson had to say:
I consider trial by jury as the only anchor yet imagined by man by which a government can be held to the principles of its constitution.
To appreciate fully what Jefferson was saying, let's take a minute and look at how the Founders of our country dealt with tyranny and oppression.
Only decades had passed since freedom of the press had been established in the American Colonies when John Peter Zenger was charged with the crime of printing true, but damaging, news stories about the Royal Governor of New York Although Zenger was obviously guilty of the crime of seditious libel, his defense attorney, Andrew Hamilton, informed the jury it had the right to
reject a bad law and acquit Zenger. Hamilton told the jury about the trial of William Penn, and the courageous London jury which refused to find him guilty of preaching what was then an illegal religion -Quakerism. The jurors at Penn's trial stood by their verdict, even though they were held without food, water or toilet facilities for four days. The jurors were then fined and imprisoned for acquitting William Penn, until England's highest court recognized their right to reject a bad law and to find a verdict according to their own conscience After hearing this story, the jurors at the trial of John Peter Zenger decided to reject the law and acquit the young American patriot.
American colonists regularly depended on juries to thwart bad laws sent over from England. The British then restricted trial by jury and other rights which juries had helped to secure. The American colonists responded with revolution and the Declaration of Independence, which said, in part:
We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness...
Afterwards, to protect the rights they'd fought for from future attack, the Founding Fathers placed trial by jury-meaning tough, fully inforrned juries-in both the Constitution and the Bill of Rights.
Most Americans are aware of their right to trial by jury, but few citizens know that the jurors have more power than anyone else in the courtroom-and that in pursuit of a just verdict, jurors are free to judge the merits of the law itself, its use in the case at hand, or the motives of the accused. Most Arnericans have never been taught that when you sit on a jury-you have the right to vote your conscience and to acquit someone if you think the law itself is wrong.
Certainly, judges won't tell you this, because the law doesn't require it. Instead, expect the judge to tell you that you may consider "only the facts" of the case and you are not to let your conscience, your opinion of the law, or the defendant's motives affect your decision. Although judges rarely inform juries of their rights, or even allow defense attorneys to tell juries of their rights, these rights do exist and are a fundamental right guaranteed under the constitution and the Bill of Rights. (37) The jury's power to reject bad laws was upheld in 1972 when the D.C. Circuit Court of Appeals held that a jury has an:
...unreviewable and irreversible power...to acquit in disregard of the instruction on the law given by the trial judge. The pages of history shine upon instances of the jury's exercise of its prerogative to disregard instructions of the judge.(38)
Most Americans have never been taught that when you sit on a jury you have the right to vote your conscience and to acquit someone if you think the law itself is wrong.
Each juror has more power than the President, all of Congress, and all of the judges combined. Congress can make laws that may or may not be constitutional, the President or some other bureaucrat can make an order or issue regulations, and judges may instruct or make a decision, but no juror can ever be punished for voting Not Guilty! Any juror can, with legal impunity, choose to disregard the instructions of any judge and vote Not Guilty! If only one Juror should vote Not Guilty!, for any reason, there can be no conviction and no punishment at the end of the trial.(39) Bad laws are no longer supplied to us by the British, but are furnished instead by our own politicians who, in furthering their own careers, have written oppressive and unconstitutional laws that forbid us to get high.
Self-serving legislators have flagrantly disregarded the Constitution and the Bill of Rights by writing laws that allow the government to seize property without due process, require enormous bails, jail more young people than ever before and make the mere possession of naturally occurring plants and potions a crime punishable by sentences more severe than some forms of murder.
It has been said, "Religion is the opium of the people." The hive promotes religions that are monotheistic and tolerates their counterpart, atheism The hive knows that these religions serve to keep people in line and conforming to the morality of the hive. Religions that incorporate the use of visionary plants and potions are antithetical to the hive and are therefore not tolerated. The hive prefers that its members serve obediently and without question. "My country, right or wrong." "America, love it or leave it." "Save a kid, kill a drug dealer." Government agents are warned to watch for young people that "engage in excessive smiling and laughter," as a known sign of drug use. All such deviants are to be rounded up, humiliated, incarcerated and reprogrammed for the mind-numbing duties of the hive. Never mind that our society is heavily sedated on prescription drugs, because the hive knows that religion is the opium of the people and that opiates are the religion of the people. The hive knows all too well that hive drugs and hive television keep the population sedated and unwilling to oppose its authority. Only the young and those who get high are a threat. That's precisely why the government is so violently opposed to visionaly plants and potions.
